    6) Don't watch so much news on the television! I'm not saying don't watch it at all (although you probably wouldn't miss it!) but have you ever watched the news and then felt happy afterwards? No, I didn't think so. Most news programs are filled with upsetting news and negative thoughts. This is not what we want to fill our minds with so why not switch the television off and occupy your mind with something you enjoy for twenty minutes instead painting, reading, go ahead please yourself.

    5) Push out negative thoughts. When you notice a negative thought work it's way in to your mind simply push it out with a new thought. A good way to do this is to have a default image in your mind that you can transfer your thoughts to easily at anytime. It should be something that makes you feel happy in some way and that you can picture easily. A good one would be your pet dog or cat. I'm sure you can easily picture them in your minds eye anytime you want and see it faithfully coming to meet you at the door wagging its tail. There we go, negative thought replaced. Every time you find yourself thinking negatively simply revert to the image of your favourite pet, let this thought occupy your mind instead, then perhaps you can move the thought on again to another positive image but the important thing is to push out and drop the negative thought.

    4) If at all possible avoid the perpetually negative people. Once I remember being on a train and I was standing up as there was nowhere to sit. The two other gentleman next to me also stood up just wouldn't stop moaning about the lack of seats, the lateness of the trains, the price increases and so on. It was ridiculous and it started to get on my nerves. In short they had made me feel negative just by being near me. I don't know why it hadn't struck me earlier but the easy solution was just to take myself out of earshot and avoid the negative conversation. What a pleasant relief that was and a really easy way to be more positive. So simply put try and avoid those types of conversations and people.

These are likely to be more positive people they will then influence your thoughts in the direction that you want them to go with very little effort on your part.     1) Smile, don't ask me why, just do it. Go ahead right now and deliberately and consciously put a smile on your face. Whenever you get a spare moment or two put a smile on your face. You will most likely automatically start thinking about pleasant things as a side effect. I don't know how this works and frankly I'm not too bothered. I believe there is some science behind it but frankly I don't care about that. All I know is that it works! So go ahead and give it a go and give yourself a positive boost. You'll be amazed at how a smile can spread and change you entire mood and outlook on the day.

    So there we have it, 6 incredibly easy ways you can start increasing your power of positive thinking today. None of them were difficult or hard to understand, so there are no excuses really. I recommend that you try and make these simple methods a habit. Once you start doing these things everyday the cumulative effect of positivity will build up and you'll have remade yourself into a much more positive and happy person. Or you could always just decide to do nothing and remain in the same mental state but I'll leave that decision to you.
