Our King Complex
David was a great King who had ruled Israel with an iron hand for 40 years. But, time had caught up with him. Things the old king use to do, he could not do anymore. And so, the hell hounds came out of the cracks and crevices.

Small Things
When my dad was nearing the end of his life he began searching his heart to see if there was anything left undone - some unconfessed sin, a misdeed, anything at all he needed to make right before he faced God. He constantly prayed that the Holy Spirit would bring to his remembrance anything he needed to make right with his fellowman. It was during this time that he came across a rusty old garden tiller at the edge of his garden. It belonged to a farmer down the road who had sold it to Dad, but, when it didn't work, the farmer returned his money to him and told Dad just to bring it back any time.

What Is A Power Song and Where Do I Get One?
Power Songs are oral prayers expressing your true self, your nature, your individuality, your power. All cultures have power songs but you can have your own power song too. We think of the power in a hymn or an African chant, a Shamanic ceremony song or even in the howling of wolf. And there is definite power in sound.

The Abundant Life!
Count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
ROMANS 6:11
My friend Randy had given up trying to live the Christian life. He said, “I have tried, but have failed so many times. Nothing seems to work for me.” After listening to his account of his many failures and defeats, I began to explain the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Randy interrupted: “I know all about the Holy Spirit. I’ve read everything I can find, and nothing works for me.”
My thoughts turned to Romans 6. I asked him, “Randy, are you sure you’re a Christian?”
“Yes,” he answered. “I’m sure.”
“How do you know?”

All One; All Different -- Addressing Spiritual Reductionism
Often we are addressed with reminders, assertions, and at times even pleas, that we
are “all one”. We are all human. We are all the same at some level. We all bleed red.
At the sub-atomic level, we are all made up of the same stuff. Or are we?

Law to the Nth Degree
Most of us know that the universe - God's universe - operates on an independent structure called Universal Law. The laws of the universe - God's laws - are an invisible influence that gently force the natural order under which the universe operates to be maintained. We can't fully understand 'karma' without understanding how it works, and why it works that way, and how the way it works affects our lives on a daily basis - without first understanding the laws that support it...

Sole Work - Walking the Spiritual Path
For the past several years I have struggled with getting (and staying) fit. Ok I admit it, the struggle has been longer than just a few years. As a kid, instead of playing nicely with the girls, I fought with the neighborhood boys. I attempted to join their fun and received new scars weekly in bloody games of soccer. I was always the last one picked to play on the kickball team and, as the catcher of my 5th grade softball team, I pummeled the pitcher in the head with a fast ball. Uncoordinated in team sports, I succeeded only at baton twirling which was fun but I barely broke a sweat. After failures in group sports I thought I'd try running so, a few years ago I attempted to train for a half marathon. I ended up limping home in tears and thought I’d never exercise again. (I couldn't even MOVE after that, much less exercise!)
